“They sent a follow-up email after they had hired someone else for the role?” Aina was in disbelief.
“Yup!”
“How are you coping with the economy?”
Amina sighed. ” ‘Tough’ is an understatement. I shuffle between photography gigs and mummy’s pension.”
“Did you eat breakfast?”
“No… as long as mummy eats well, I’m good. Her drugs are more expensive now, I have to manage.
“But…”
Amina cut Aina off. “Aina how far with the man of your dreams?”
They burst into laughter.
“Girrrrlll! ‘Man of my dreams’ was the man of my nightmares! You?” Aina teased.
“Ever a hard girl, my dear. Mum keeps telling me not to get married late like she did. That’s why she only has me…”
Ding-dong!
“Mummy’s call. She needs me. Later, Aina.”
“Bye!”
Entering on her 75-year-old mum, in their three-bedroom flat. Amina called fondly, “Maami?”
“Darling. Someone is at the gate. Won’t you drop your camera?”
“A nature photographer is never far from their camera.” Amina winked.
It wasn’t their gate, but she saw something at her neighbor’s gate–A Ford with tinted glass.
The back windows were up and the front windows were down. She greeted the women at the front.
Right then, her eyes caught a breathtaking sight and she began to take photos.

“Hello!”
Amina looked back.
“The nature photography king!”
Ibiniyi stepped out of the backseat of the Ford. He makes a fortune out of nature visuals around the world.
She pinched herself. He chuckled. “You’re real!”
“Yeah.” Niyi grinned. “I saw my younger self in you.” He looked at her camera. “Want to make a career out of it?”
” I…”
“Sorry. Your name?”
“Amina Yekinni”
“Amina. Yes or No?”
“Yes.”
“Great!” Amina’s neighbor finally opened his gate. “Here, this is my card. Send your unfiltered works and C.V. to this email. My P.A. will send your official resumption date. I always start payment with three figures, in dollars. Depends on you. Adios!”
“Niyi!” Amina’s neighbor shouted.
Aminah would have wondered how they were related, but her life just changed again in less than 20 minutes.
